Description

The Stonefly Engineering Team is seeking a Network Engineer/System Administrator to design, develop and maintain SAN hardware and troubleshoot and resolve production problems in a timely manner. This individual will also be responsible for resolution of network systems, operating system and application troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Recommend, plan for and implement SAN hardware upgrades
• Assist with SAN and storage architecture and planning
• Assist in the administration and troubleshooting of Windows servers and software products
• Automate systems monitoring task using standard monitoring tools
• Ensure the development and use of an effective preventive maintenance program suitable to meet the operation objective of ""99.9% availability""
• Ensure backup of data according to recommended policies for VMWare infrastructure and Microsoft-based Systems
• Responsibility for proactively managing and optimizing storage, sites and systems
• Assist in planning, designing and implementing a high quality production environment
• Assist in evaluating, recommending, and selecting equipment, services and vendors
• Maintain and update documentation of the computing environment
• Respond to all system problems on a 7X24 basis and take part in on-call rotation as a member of the team

Qualifications

• Experience/ability to learn with StoneFly SAN and NAS array systems, Fibre Channel network, data replication and backup
• Experience with planning and implementing storage solutions for virtualization on VMWare
• Solid foundation of Windows security fundamentals, networking, TCP/IP, SAN and servers technology, and Microsoft Clusters technology
• Good understanding of SQL Servers or any Microsoft Back Office Suite servers will be a plus.
• Hands-on experience configuring and installing Windows 200x, SQL Server, and MS Clusters
• Hands-on TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting in a Microsoft Windows networking environment
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or equivalent job experience
• 3 years hands-on experience in a mission-critical production environment of 100+ servers using Microsoft Windows 2000/2003, Fibre Channel SAN and storage array systems
• Minimum of 5 years of server build, server troubleshooting and server administration
• 3 years hands-on experience in the administration, maintenance and backup policy configuration of data protection and backup of production Windows 2000/2003 servers, SQL 2000/2005 servers, Exchange servers and Active Directory
• SAN vendor and SNIA certification is desirable

Highly technical sales support position focusing on storage while helping iSCSI sales penetrate new and existing accounts. The person will be expected to drive virtual team activities and be a self starter. The person in this role may also work closely in the field with respective manufacturer personnel.

Responsibilities

•Work closely with ISCSI sales as a consultant to understand customer requirements.
•Perform sizing, architecture and consultative selling of solutions to customers.
•Help design, architect and validate storage solutions.
•Understand and present value proposition to prospect and customers.

Qualifications

•Strong familiarity of storage networking environments, SAN/NAS.
•Sizing of storage for database applications (Oracle/MS SQL Server/DB2).
•Consultative selling of storage solutions.
•Strong working knowledge and administration experience in SAN/NAS preferred.
•Ability to communicate storage related technology and business issues with customers and partners.
•Strong working knowledge of file systems, operating systems (Solaris/Linux/HP-UX/Windows) and, storage technologies such as fiber channel iscsi is required.
•Previous experience with disaster recovery solutions, business continuance, Nearline storage, and/or data replication software is highly desirable.
•Working knowledge of Veritas File/Volume Manager and/or Veritas Foundation Suite for Oracle/DB2 is desired.
•Candidate must have strong technical and project management skills and must be able to work cross-functionally with other development teams and partner organizations.
•Must clearly demonstrate superb speaking and writing ability. Mandatory: examples of significant papers or other written documents on Database technologies/SAN/iSAN. related subjects authored by the candidate must be submitted.
•2+ years experience in consulting is desired not mandatory.
•10+ years of industry experience in storage technologies.

Responsibilities

Performs software installations and hardware upgrades to backup devices (servers and libraries). Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

Provides status reporting on backup success/failure, performance, and capacity utilization to ensure compliance of system backups within established windows.

Supports the backup devices and related infrastructures by resolving escalated and technically complex trouble tickets assigned by the customer service center in a timely and efficient manner.

Documents changes to system functions and/or configurations for technical and client reference. Maintains and enforces backup policies. Provides recommendations regarding backup device planning and budgeting as requested by management as well as business and technical consultation.

Identifies and streamlines administrative work-flow and uses available technical tools to organize and formalize workflow. Prioritizes work based on departmental priorities and system criticality.

Provides troubleshooting and debugging to backup/restoration related issues. Ensures that problem resolution is completed.

Participates in disaster recovery planning and simulations, and in case of a real crisis serves as a key member of the disaster recovery process team.

May provide direction and guidance to lesser-experienced backup administration staff to assist them in their role and understanding of more complex backup/restoration administration.

Assists with testing and validating usability of new backup, tape, fabric, VTL storage, and other emerging technologies.

Maintains and increases technical knowledge by attending workshops and professional development activities and establishing personal networks.

Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

A basic knowledge and understanding of backup devices, operating systems and database environments as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred.

Must have three - six years experience and proven skill of backup software, tape libraries, VTL, and Archival solutions.

Experience with multiple operating systems Windows, Linux, and Unix and multiple applications Exchange, SQL, and Oracle strongly preferred.

Experience with computer security and system monitoring techniques and tools supporting unattended operations.

The Sales Manager will be focused on driving the sale of Stonefly storage solutions. This person will work with first line sales teams to drive comprehensive Stonefly storage solutions based on a thorough understanding of both short and long term customer requirements. As an integral part of the Stonefly sales team they are responsible for providing subject matter expertise to both customers and the sales teams to ensure the all technical requirements and objectives are met. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and implementation of technical sales strategies, thoughtful discovery of customer requirements and subsequent solution proposal development, delivery of technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer focused seminars. Along with the above, participation in response to customer RFI/RFP, competitive differentiation of Stonefly storage solutions, and support for customer product evaluations.

Qualifications

The Sales Manager should have 5-8+ years of proven sales experience as a consistent top performer. In addition to exemplary sales skills, the candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills (written and verbal), dynamic and engaging presentation skills, and excellent time management control.

A strong knowledge of Stonefly Storage Solutions (Stonefly Inc will be holding an orientation webinar about in the weeks of 9/26 to10/7 – applicants will be notified via email) is a must as well as knowledge of the following technologies:
